Huge crowds turn out for fantastic Spondon Festival

The 2011 Spondon Village Festival was another huge success with thousands of people from Spondon and beyond joining in the weekend's fun and entertainment.

Held at Bluebells Dairy over the weekend of 10th/11th Setpember 2011, the Festival was in its second year and aiming to be even bigger and better than last year - and it didn't fail.

Live music, dance displays, martial arts exhibitions, a dog show and more kept the crowds entertained throughout Sunday with plenty of other entertainment, stalls, catering, beer tent and all the fun of the fair to also add to the fun.

Sunday's Carnival Day followed on from SpondonFest on Saturday, an evening of live music from 10 different local bands.

A HUGE big thank you to Festival organisers Angie Doughty, Emma Donald, Lauren Cook and Alan England for all the time and effort they put into the Festival throughout the year and especially over the Festival weekend. Thanks also to the Brown family at Bluebells for playing host to this year's event.

And a big thank you also to everyone who took part in some shape or form or came along to the Festival over the weekend and helped to make it the fantastic, successful community event that it was.

Photos from the weekend can be found at www.facebook.com/spondononline. We'd also LOVE to see YOUR photos from the event, and share them with others on the Festival website and Facebook too. If you've got photos that you're happy to share, please email them to steve@spondononline.co.uk.
