Thousands turn out for Spondon Christmas Lights Switch-on!

An estimated 2,000 people filled the streets of Spondon centre on Friday 25th November for this year's Christmas Lights Switch-on event.

Organised by Spondon Traders Association, the event has become a highlight on the Spondon calendar and Chapel Street was packed from end to end with people enjoying the festivities.

Spondon’s Rick Sheehan entertained the crowds along with local choir Mixed Blessings and bell ringers from Spondon Cubs. Spondon shops stayed open late and put on special events and discounts as well as offering free snacks and drinks to welcome people to the village.

Huge congratulations and thanks go to the Traders Association and everyone else involved in making this fantastic evening such a success. The evening was another great testament to the amazing community spirit we have here in Spondon and the Christmas lights throughout the village really add a brilliant festive feel to the area.
