Spondon Neighbourhood Forum Meeting Update

A wide variety of issues and topics discussed at the last forum meeting on 7 March, attended by 47 residents at Spondon Cricket Club. These included:

Adult Social Care: A presentation from Olwen Wilson, Programme Manager in Adults, Health and Housing at the City Council about Adult Social Care in Derby - Your Life Your Choice. She outlined the changes taking place in Adult Social Care that will give people who need support more choice and control. Police priorities in Spondon: Residents at the Forum meeting agreed the Spondon Safer Neighbourhood Team priorities for the next three months in Spondon as:
1. Auto crime and dwelling burglaries.
2. Anti-social behaviour - Chapelside and Sitwell Street.
3. Anti social behaviour - Nottingham Road/Station Road.

Also: Information was also provided about the new Spondon flag, Spondon Archive booklets, Craddock Avenue allotment plans, Brunswood park Makeover, Canal walkway improvements, Dale Park plans for improvements, Jubilee celebrations plans for Spondon, consultation opportunities and much more .

A variety of questions were also asked about Orange Recycling Bags, Homestead wall along Sitwell Street, Lodge Lane pedestrian guard rails, parking problems at a variety of locations including at the Spondon schools, Sitwell Street, Glendale Drive ( as well as waiting restrictions) and parking on verges across Spondon, safer cycling, trees on private properties. Responses will be provided at the next forum meeting.

The Next Spondon forum meeting is on Wednesday 13 June at Spondon Village Hall at 6.30pm. Everyone is welcome and there will be a chance to contribute to identifying the Spondon priorities for 2013/14.
