Raffle raises over £1000 in aid of Spondon Rams

A local fundraising raffle has raised over £1000 for the Spondon Rams, a kids football team in India.

The team is based at the Don Bosco Mobile School where they study and was created after Spondon resident Neil Bennett collected Derby County shirts along with school equipment last year to donate to the school. After visiting the school with the donations, the team was formed and named after Neil's home of Spondon. (More details here)

Neil recently organised another raffle to raise more funds for the school, selling tickets at £1 each in a variety of locations around Spondon.

Winners were drawn at the Prince of Wales on February 26th by Spondon sports star Donna Kellogg and former Rams star John O'Hare.
