Police warning on cold-calling tradesmen

Derbyshire Police have reminded residents to be on their guard against tradesmen offering services on your doorstep.

At approx 1.30pm on Wednesday 30 March on Chaffinch Close in Spondon, two men called at addresses asking occupants if they want any worked carried out for a small fee or even free. When they have been asked to do the work they then ask for a fee.

Description of one of the men is Male, white, ginger hair wearing a high visibility jacket, checked shirt and smart trousers.

These callers have since been stopped and checked by police, given advice regarding their 'cold calling' and persistant behaviour and asked to leave the area. No further offences have come to light.

However, if you see anything suspicious, please contact the Police on 999 if urgent or non-emergency calls on 0345 123 3333.
