Who will be the “Spondon Young Team of the Year”?

An award scheme which aims to specifically recognise, reward, promote and celebrate the achievements and successes of junior teams from Spondon is open for nominations for this year’s award.

Introduced in 2011 and won by Spondon Rovers FC Under 9’s last year, the awards are currently funded by Spondon Neighbourhood Board and are open to any club or organisation which is based in Spondon and run junior teams for people up to and including 19 years old. The award winner will receive a prize of £200 with five runners up each receiving £20.

The team nominated will have taken part in some type of sporting or team activity over a period of time, but the team does not have to be part of a competitive league or competition. Achievements need to have taken place between April 2011 and April 2012.

Nominations can be submitted via the official nomination form, which can be downloaded via the link at the end of this page. Forms are also available from Spondon Library and Spondon Neighbourhood Board members.

Nominations must be received by 31st March 2012.

The Neighbourhood Board is also keen to hear from any local businesses who may be interested in sponsoring the award in the future. For more details, please contact Councillor Evonne Williams on 01332 664560 or via evonne.williams@derby.gov.uk.
