Second local history book explores pub’s history

The second in a series of new booklets about Spondon Past and Present has been launched, looking at the history of Spondon’s oldest public house, The Malt Shovel.

Written by David Hayes, the book is the latest in the series of booklets being published in partnership between Spondon Historical Society and the Village Improvement Committee.

The new booklet was initially launched for sale at the Malt Shovel itself and is also now available from other local businesses including Mark Davis Opticians, Housley’s Chemists, Little Treats and D-label for just £2.50.
