Volunteers sought for Brunswood Park makeover

Derby Parks have organised two action days on Brunswood Park for Friday 30 March and Saturday 31 March to give the park a spring clean and are asking for volunteers from the local area to add their support to the project.

The park is close to the village centre and has recently seen its play area improved and refurbished. Spondon Neighbourhood Board has kindly paid for the paint to use on the play equipment which will improve the park tenfold. Derby Parks will also provide paint, brushes, dust sheets, spades, litter pickers, refuse sacks etc so all that is need now is a willing force of volunteers.

Volunteers are welcome for as much or as little time as they can offer on either or both days. The event is spread over both a working day and a weekend to hopefully help the event appeal to all members of our community. All support is appreciated, whether you come along as an individual or if you arrange for your club or organisation to turn up in a group.

Planned activities will include painting the play equipment and benches, litter picking, applying the “no dog fouling” stencil on the footway at each entrance, tidying up the entrances and a general full tidy of the park. Any other suggestions for work that could be included are welcomed.
