Spondon Festival - the countdown is on!

This year’s Spondon Village Festival takes place over two days, on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th September, providing fun and entertainment for everyone!

SpondonFest - Saturday 8th September, 1pm until Late
A day of live music from local bands and artists along with other live entertainment, all undercover in our huge Festival marquee with room for 1000+ people!

Soak up the special atmosphere of live music, dancing and other entertainment at this fantastic affordable local music festival for all the family. The day includes:

~ Live music stage featuring a variety of different bands, artists and musical styles.
~ Dance performances ~ Live comedy and other entertainment
~ Full fun fair ~ Foods from around the World ~Beer tent plus other drinks stands
~ PLUS Ibiza-style Foam Party and Disco for under 18s!
Saturday's evening entertainment also includes a fireworks display at around 9pm (earlier if dark enough so young children don't have to stay too late to see the display)

Carnival Day - Sunday 9th September, 11.30am until 5pm
All the fun and entertainment of the Village Festival as the whole community comes together for a fantastic fun day out with something for everyone, including:

~ Performances from local dance groups ~ Magicians ~ Belly Dancers ~ Family disco
~ Clowns ~ Professional Story Teller ~ Big Band / Brass Band music ~ Dog show
~ Full Fun Fair with rides and thrills for all ages ~ Large inflatables ~ Craft marquee
~ Huge range of stalls & stands ~ Vintage tractors, cars & motorbikes ~ Car boot area
~ Spondon Traders ~ Woody's Wings Parrots & Owls ~ Methodist Church marquee
~ Youth Area featuring Wigwam chill-out area, street dance sessions and gunge tank
~ Rest Area for Older Visitors including seating, tea & cakes plus live brass band music
~ Full food and drink facilities ~ Licenced bar ~ and much more!!

Sunday also includes a walking parade through Spondon, setting off from Willowcroft Park at approx 11.40am and heading through to the Festival site at Asterdale Sports Ground.
The parade will be led by the Carnival band and feature hundreds of people including residents and members of numerous local groups and clubs.

A free Festival bus service will also run through Spondon from Sitwell Street to the
Festival at Asterdale Sports Ground and back from 11.30am to 5pm on Sunday. Car parking also available on-site.
