Spondon 2011 Local Election candidates announced

Candidates for the Spondon ward in the upcoming Local Elections have been announced.

Four candidates have been nominated to succeed retiring Spondon councillor Peter Berry at the elections on Thursday 5th May.

The nominated candidates are, in alphabetical order:

    GRIFFIN, Vanessa Margaret Ann – British National Party
    Home address: Enoch Stone Drive, Chaddesden

    JENNINGS, Harvey – Conservative Party
    Home address: Sandringham Drive, Spondon

    KING, Simon Kirkman – Liberal Democrats
    Home address: Duffield Road, Derby

    MORGAN, Richard – Labour Party
    Home address: Moor Street, Spondon

Polling stations will be open around Spondon from 7am until 10pm on Thursday 5th May. In addition to the Local Election poll, voters will also be asked to vote in the national referendum on proposals to change the General Election voting system from the current "First Past The Post" system to a new "Alternative Vote (AV)" system.
